In fact, Willmeng hosted a live company celebration 100% via Zoom. Saturday, August 15th, 180 Willmeng employees and their families tuned in from their living rooms to gather at a distance in light of COVID-19.
The Mid-Year Retreat is an annual tradition created in an effort to honor Willmeng team members and reward them for their unwavering work ethic and care for each other and our clients. By the end of the retreat, employees left feeling refreshed and more deeply connected than ever before to the mission and people of Willmeng. With family members joining from all over the Valley, they all gained a new appreciation for the contribution that goes into the company and community.
“This year was an extraordinary year for us to come together and deliver a Mid-Year Retreat that looked different than any year before,” said Krystal Book, Willmeng’s Director of Client Care & Executive Projects. “It was an all-hands-on-deck effort for our team to entertain, educate, and deliver an event bringing people closer together during a challenging time.”
Willmeng News Tonight was the overall retreat theme in which Willmeng shared all the positive events and projects of 2020. The event was hosted by CEO James Murphy, with Tom Jarvis and Keyvan Ghahreman acting as news station anchors sharing All the Good News throughout. The night consisted of a competition of pre-recorded games; such as, Cookie Face, Cup Stacking Race, Lego building, a Watermelon Eating Contest, Bubble Blowing and an abundance more. Willmeng employees received t-shirts to identify what teams they were on and cheered for their teammates in the Zoom chat room.
Willmeng provided take-home meal kits catered by North Italia, for team members to cook a meal at home with enough food to feed their entire family. Included with the meal kit was a Willmeng Mystery Box, where employees were advised to wait until the retreat to open the special gift.
“This was an incredible collective effort from many individuals coming together for the good of everyone, making it a hugely succesful evening full of Willmeng camaraderie,” said Tom Jarvis, Willmeng Partner & Vice President of Pre-Lease Estimating. “As a company, our core values and strategic efforts drive us to reach new heights. Throughout this time, we’ve been extremely fortunate and it was a great opportunity to take a moment to reflect and be thankful.”
This year, any family with a high school senior was encouraged to enter a sponsorship raffle to assist with college tuition. The raffle was drawn live on Zoom where everyone watched a priceless reaction from the winning family. This is just one of the many ways Willmeng gives back to the team and supports one another.
No matter what challenges come up through life, Willmeng strives to find opportunities to stay connected. As the Willmeng team continues to adapt to all circumstances, team members are already counting down the days until their next company gathering.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
