The challenges that the industry faced in 2020 were unprecedented. The Willmeng Construction team responded with the kind of professionalism that has become a trademark of the company for more than 40 years. While the COVID-19 pandemic raged throughout 2020, Willmeng kept making progress on projects big and small. While maintaining the positive company culture that the industry knows Willmeng for. All of these efforts during 2020 didn’t go unnoticed. Organizations and publications locally and nationally recognized the many accomplishments at Willmeng in 2020.
NAIOP held the annual Best of NAIOP Arizona Awards on May 12 at WestWorld of Scottsdale. Willmeng walked away with a lot of hardware. They collected three company awards during the event. Honored to have NAIOP recognize Willmeng as Firm of the Year, General Contractor of the Year and Tenant Improvement Contractor of the Year. The selection committee also recognized three Willmeng projects. First, the Amazon GYR3 IXD project, which the announcer named Industrial Tenant Improvement Project of the Year. Second, was Volvo Arrowhead Dealership & Site Improvement, which was named Retail Project of the Year. Finally, Gilbert Crossroads, which was the Spec Industrial Project of the Year (Less than 365,000 SF).
For the second year in a row and the third time in four years, Willmeng Construction made the Inc.com Best Workplaces list. Willmeng was just one of 10 construction firms to make the list of 429 companies from across the nation. Willmeng is one of just six Arizona companies included on the list. And is the only construction firm from Arizona that Inc.com recognized.
In May, AZ Business Magazine and Ranking Arizona released their list of the 100 Best Places to Live and Work and Willmeng Construction was part of the class of 2021. Ranking Arizona named 10 construction companies on the list, showing the overall depth of the industry in Arizona.
