City of Surprise Xeriscape Demonstration Garden

The garden includes plants and trees that rely on low water use by the reclaimed water irrigation system. Signs around the garden contain information about the different species. There are four zones in the garden including low desert native plants, native plants that flourish in dry conditions, colorful plants, and plants with different blooming times in the year. The team provided major site works addressing multiple grade changes in support of the relocation of retention ponds. Unique gradation allows water harvesting to flow within the garden. The new outdoor space will also include an amphitheater, a seating area, tiered benches, and a water education center to serve as a space for public events.
