ABOUT

The San Tan Montessori Elementary Expansion project consisted of a 13,980 SF design-build ground-up classroom building on an existing school campus. The project also included major renovations to the campus’s existing football field.

To accommodate an increased enrollment of students, the owner required occupancy of some classroom space in their new building for the start of fall classes on August 9, 2018. This presented a significant challenge because delays in the owner’s financing had pushed the start of construction to April 29, 2018, giving Willmeng less than three-and-a-half months from ground breaking and the start of foundation work to provide occupancy of some classrooms.

Through creative planning, a determination to “Make It Happen,” and with support from the Town of Gilbert’s Fire Department and building inspectors, we turned over finished classrooms at one end of the building while major construction continued on the remainder of the building. The school began teaching students in the new classrooms on August 9, 2018.

We also completed the renovations of the football field in time for the school to hold its annual, spirit-boosting Sports Night on August 2, 2018.
